Norman Doidge

Psychiatrist, Psychoanalyst and Neuroscientist

Norman Doidge

Norman Doidge is the psychiatrist and neuroscientist who proved that our brain is not a block of concrete, but a mouldable mass full of possibilities.

Born in Canada, he became one of the great promoters of neuroplasticity - the brain's incredible ability to reorganise and adapt. His best-seller ‘The Brain That Changes Itself’ brought fascinating stories of people who overcame injuries and limitations, challenging everything that was thought about neurology.

Then, in ‘The Brain That Heals’, he went further and showed how this plasticity can be used to treat diseases. Today, he continues to explore the mysteries of the human mind and reminds us that, fortunately, changing your mind (and your neurons) is not only an option, it's also possible.
